Frequently Asked Questions

What is golfing on a simulator like?

Golfing on our top of the line simulators is very much like real golf. You use normal clubs and balls, and as you hit your shot into our beautiful 17 foot wide screens, 3 seperate layers of smart cameras work with industry leading technology to accurately replicate the shot. FULLSWING simulators offer unparalleled realism and accuracy. No other simulation technology or indoor launch monitor can measure ball flight characteristics more accurately or rapidly. This is the simulator Tiger uses... he's pretty good.

How long does it take to play?

Everyone plays and enjoys the simulators at a different speed, but in general it takes approximately 45 minutes per person to play 18 holes. It's kind of like playing golf with no group behind you :) Play at your own pace! 1 player = about 1 hour
2 players = 1.5 hours to 2 hours
4 players = 3 hours to 3.5 hours

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you’d be comfortable golfing or throwing a football in. We have found that clean running shoes make the best footwear for this experience. If you do bring your golf shoes, please be sure they are free of dirt/debris before wearing them in the hitting bays. We ask that any shoes used for play be clean. Our friend Mark already made that mistake ;)

Do I have to be good at golf?

Do you sell alcohol?

Great question! Our application was submitted the very first moments we were able to. The process can take quite some time SO in the early days of our business, the short answer is no, we are not yet permitted to sell alcohol. BUT we are excited to work with the municipality and province to expedite the process as quickly as possible. We are doing everything we can & appreciate your patience!

What steps are you taking for COVID-19?

With concerns of COVID-19, we are closely following the Government of Canada Public Health communications, and we are proactively taking measures to keep our facility and community in great shape. We care deeply about your health & our community. Please refer to our dedicated COVID-19 page for further details.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

Alcholic beverages are not permitted at Iron & Wood Golf Simulators. We have many non-alcoholic options for purchase and appreciate your adhearance during our liquor licence application process.

What's the deal with the hole names at Spyglass Hill?

Great question!! Thanks for asking .... Robert Louis Stevenson was said to have traversed the dunes that became Spyglass Hill GC, and the location was his muse for the buccaneers and buried gold in his classic novel Treasure Island. When Spyglass Hill was built in 1966, the name of the course was inspired by Stevenson’s book. NCGA Executive Director Bob Hanna even went so far as to name most of the holes after Treasure Island people and places. Cool right?!?

Do I need to bring my own equipment / balls for the multisport games?

Not at all! We have each private bay outfitted with all the sanitized equipment and balls you will need to play each of the games. We even supply the zombies for zombie dodgeball :) We do not supply golf glubs, so make sure to bring those!

Do you have golf clubs available for rent?

YES! Our rental clubs are from Cleveland Golf ... they are all new... all shiny & all awesome. We sanitize our entire rental sets after each use to ensure the strictest of protective measures. Cost for a rental set is $15 per session.
